Under This Kind of Light single [ Sep 1st 2024 ]

The first single extracted from the album is Under This Kind Light“. “Do you know how many living species exist in the world? No one knows with certainty: it could range from 3 to 100 million”. Thanks to the free and tireless work of the Sun, life forms have been able to multiply and diversify over billions of years. The song is a celebration of the randomness of the conditions that allowed life, and an ode to life in all its possibilities.

Propositi per il nuovo anno galattico single [ Dec 31st 2024 ]

The second song extracted from the album is Propositi per il Nuovo Anno galattico which borrows a piece from Filippo Bonaventura (astrophysicist and science communicator) and embeds it into a track that intertwines a 7/4 bassline with a steady kick drum, like the galaxy’s arms coil around its black hole. Many voices come together in this narrative to remind us of how small we are, yet how great an opportunity it is to be part of it all.

Propositi per il Nuovo Anno Galattico: Frank Sinutre‘s 5th studio album

Making music is a bit like a game – not by chance, in many languages it translates as “playing.” Like all games, it must have some rules though. And so, one day 12 years ago in this game invented by Michele and Isacco called “Frank Sinutre,” the two decided to create a rule that they would release a quadrilogy of albums about the elements.

Starting with “Musique pour les Poissons” dedicated to water, moving through “The Boy Who Believed He Could Fly” about air and “200.000.000 Steps” about earth, Frank Sinutre are now preparing, 12 years later, to close this quadrilogy by releasing this fourth chapter.

The album “Propositi per il Nuovo Anno Galattico” (Resolutions for the Galactic New Year) was released on 19 December 2025 by the independent label theDustRealm Music. The album is accompanied by the video for the track “Brother Fire, directed by Giovanni Tutti, which also directed “Under This Kind Of Light” and “Propositi per il Nuovo Anno Galattico” singles’ videos too.

Fire was probably the screen of the past. At first, homo erectus feared it a bit like all animals do, but then about 1.5 million years ago, he started getting along with it. It must have been an incredible revolution at the time. No more stumbling on the cave rock when returning home (or rather “returning cave”) at night with the resulting pain in the pinky toe; one could make some mammoth roasts; everyone could gather around warmly to tell each other stories, fantasizing about how future man would be able to invent the Zippo lighter; one could even stare at it alone to think and question it about what to do. Beautiful like the sun and made of the same substance, fire was the screen of the past – not that you can cook a mammoth on a screen, but in certain other terms it is certainly the grandfather of all entertainment. “Brother Fire” should be listened to in front of a fire (a gas stove or barbecue flame will do just fine) and by gazing at it, understand.

About Frank Sinutre: the electronic duo with self-made instruments

Frank Sinutre is an electronic project born in 2011 in Mantova (Italy) that uses homemade electronic instruments, traditional ones, and algorithmic visuals.

It was formed by Isi Pavanelli (ReactaBOX, synth, beat maker, Drummabox, vocoder) and Michele K. Menghinez (guitar, bass, lap steel guitar, vocals, drums, percussion).

Since the beginning, they played homemade electronic instruments such as Reactabox (inspired by the famous Reactable, it consists of a MIDI controller where rhythmic loops, melody sequences and effects are triggered and controlled through mysterious cubes placed and moved upon a special interactive screen) and Drummabox (an acoustic drum machine based on Arduino). During live performances, they also use traditional instruments (guitar, looping, bass, synth, lap steel guitar) and a homemade algorithmic visual show that consists of a flow of images processed and re-elaborated through the audio signal.
