Miriam and Liliana Neglia are two Italian sisters, singers and producers. Since childhood they have shown talent for several artistic disciplines, such as music, dance and acting. Both participated to “Lo Zecchino d’Oro” and, after undertaking two different artistic careers, in 2018 they collaborated for the first time within the same project named MIDIHANDS, a project produced by Fuso, where Miriam participated as vocalist and Liliana as visual performer through virtual reality.
With this lineup they performed at the opening of Daddy G (Massive Attack) at Locus Winter 2018. And later at the Italian rapper and producer Frankie HI-NRG. They were also among the finalists of the “Jazz Alguer” competition – artistic direction Paolo Fresu – performing in Alghero in summer of 2019.
The debut of the album MATCHLESS (as the duo’s name) has been released on the 29th of October 2021 for the independent Italian label theDustRealm Music, and it represents a unique and personal journey through the emotional universe of the two artists.
The 10 tracks album, all written, produced, mixed and mastered by the Neglia sisters, speaks about past, present and future love relationships; they explore stories of life, uncertainties and awareness.
While listening to the album it is possible to perceive a continuous research and the desire of self-challenge are also perceptible. In the combination of beats and grooves, often distant in genre and style, whose fit and create peculiar dynamics.
Electronic atmospheres that play between dark and light, challenging the patterns, limits and structures, characterize the two sisters’ project, determined by discovery, evolution, and daily improvement.
